Description
The TASCAM FR-AV2 is an ultra-compact, professional 2-channel field recorder and timecode generator purpose-built for videographers, filmmakers, and content creators. Utilizing advanced 32-bit float point recording technology combined with dual analog-to-digital converters (ADCs), the FR-AV2 captures an incredibly wide dynamic range from a soft whisper to a roaring engine without the risk of digital clipping, completely eliminating the need to set input gains manually. Equipped with two high-grade Ultra HDDA microphone preamps, the recorder guarantees clean, ultra-low-noise audio capture with an EIN of -127 dBu. For advanced camera synchronization, it features a built-in high-accuracy Temperature-Compensated Crystal Oscillator (TCXO) that reads, generates, and jam-syncs timecode via dedicated 3.5mm inputs/outputs. Wrapped in a rugged, lightweight fiberglass enclosure optimized for camera rigs, it also functions as a 2-in/2-out USB-C audio interface and offers automated 20-second safety file saving to prevent unexpected data loss in the field.
