Rode NTG 3 Shotgun Microphone

A studio product shot of the sleek, silver moisture-resistant RØDE NTG-3 shotgun microphone, positioned vertically against a clean white background.

Description

The RØDE NTG-3 Precision RF-Biased Shotgun Microphone is a broadcast-grade directional microphone engineered for the most demanding film, television, and field recording environments. Purpose-built for boom operators and location sound recordists, it delivers high-resolution, rich audio with a natural tone that excels in both outdoor ENG setups and professional voice-over applications.

Featuring advanced radio-frequency (RF) bias technology, the NTG-3 is almost completely resistant to moisture and condensation, ensuring reliable performance in humid or adverse weather conditions that might cause standard condenser microphones to fail. Its line-gradient, supercardioid polar pattern yields tightly controlled, directional acoustic pickup with a forgiving off-axis response that eliminates unwanted background coloration. Machined from solid brass with a durable, anti-glare finish, the lightweight housing is highly immune to RF interference and minimizes handling noise. It operates on standard 48V phantom power and comes equipped with a weatherproof aluminum storage cylinder for maximum protection in the field.
