Description
The Audio-Technica AT4022 is a professional, small-diaphragm true condenser microphone with an omnidirectional polar pattern, purpose-built for critical studio recording, acoustic instrument tracking, and live sound reinforcement. Its low-profile, cylindrical design houses an ultra-low-mass diaphragm that yields an exceptional transient response and a smooth, widely extended frequency response. Because its omnidirectional pattern preserves natural acoustic spaces and eliminates proximity effect distortion, it is ideal for capturing pianos, acoustic guitars, drum overheads, string sections, and ambient rooms. The microphone features advanced transformerless circuitry that virtually eliminates low-frequency coloration while maintaining excellent high-SPL handling. It also features a switchable 80 Hz high-pass filter to clean up low-frequency muddy frequencies and a 10 dB pad for extra input safety.
